Coaches and Managers: We would like to invite you to play in the 2026 Sporting CT Spring Shootout; April 24-26, in Greater Middletown, CT. The tournament is for U9 – U14/15 girls and boys teams.

Prices:

  • U9 & U10: 7v7, 12 player max roster, $725 per team

  • U11 & U12: 9v9, 16 player max roster, $750 per team

  • U13 & U14/15: 11v11, 22 player max roster, $775 per team

Format

  • 7v7 & 9v9 = 2 x 30 (60) min matches

  • 11v11 = 2 x 35 (70) min matches

  • Each team plays 3 games; there are no semis or final.

  • The team that accumulates the most points wins the tournament – The point system is TBD (we may tweak it from last year’s)

Team Discounts

  • Clubs that enter 5-9 teams will receive a $50 discount per team

  • Clubs that enter 10 or more teams will receive a $75 discount per team

2016 Sporting CT Shootout Rules:

THERE ARE NO PROTESTS

ROSTERS: Teams may register a maximum of (22) players for 11v11 divisions, a maximum of (18) players for 9v9, and (16) players for 7v7; This number of players INCLUDES Guest Players.

SUBSTITUTIONS ARE UNLIMITED

CAUTIONS AND EJECTIONS 

● A player receiving two cautions (yellow cards) in a single game is considered to have been given an ejection (red card).

● A player who has been ejected (sent off), will not be replaced. A player who has been ejected will not return for that game and will not be allowed to participate in the next scheduled game.

● A player who is ejected for violent conduct or serious foul play may be expelled from the tournament, at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

● Any player or coach who assaults a referee will be expelled from the Tournament.

● A coach who has been ejected will not be allowed to participate in the next scheduled game, and may be expelled from the tournament at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

○ During game suspension(s) for coaches, there can be NO contact between the team and the coach during the game and the coach must be out of sight and sound of the field.

○ Additionally, the coach must not be involved in unacceptable conduct

○ Failure to adhere to this rule will result in an immediate ejection from the tournament for the coach. The tournament director will notify the appropriate federation regarding any disciplinary actions taken.

TOURNAMENT SITE RULES 

In addition to specific facility rules posted to the tournament website please see the following rules that must also be adhered to. ● Alcoholic beverages are not permitted at game sites.

● Smoking is prohibited at all sites and is enforced.

● Dogs or similar pets are not allowed.

● The placing or erection of any structure or object which will cause the penetration of the synthetic surface is prohibited.

PARENTS/SUPPORTERS:

– Parents/Supporters are not allowed to sit along the endline of the field; only the spectator sideline.

– Parents/Supporters are not allowed on the same side of the field as the teams.

It’s the responsibility of the coach & manager if their team’s parents get out of line. Referees will stop matches (running time so the clock won’t stop) if parental behavior escalates. We strongly suggest you pass this on to your team parents. Any abuse directed at an official will be dealt with immediately and disciplinary action will be taken against the parent and club.

SCORE REPORTING – 

Immediately at the conclusion of your match, the coach or manager of both teams must text in the score.

Text the Match Number & score to 860-338-3104 and 860-338-4617.

If you don’t include the Match Number the score will not be updated.

NEW THIS YEAR PER CT JUNIOR SOCCER ASSN – 

Teams Are Required to Show The Referee Their Roster Before Matches

​From CJSA: “CREDENTIALS CHECKS: We agree that we shall conduct credentials checks to ensure that all players are registered with US Youth Soccer or US Soccer or a member thereof or their national association, properly rostered with their team, and participating in accordance with representations set forth on the US Youth Soccer Application to Host a Tournament or Games.​” If the​ coach’s name is not on the roster they must be able to present a photo ID (Coaching Pass, Driver’s License)

GAME DURATIONS:

– 7v7 and 9v9 games are 2 x 30 min

– 11v11 games are 2 x 35 min

Games are running clock with no added extra time at the end of either half.

GAME INFO:

– Games must kickoff on time; all teams should be at the field, ready to play, at their scheduled kickoff time.

– All games are running time; no added extra time at the end of either half

– The home team will supply the game ball

– The home team will change jerseys in case of conflict

​- Captains will not be called before the game

– In the first half, teams will defend the side of the field their bench is on

– The away team will kickoff the game

STANDINGS:

– The winner of the tournament is the team that earns the most points:

– 6 points for a win

– 2 points for a tie

– 0 points for a loss

– Points per goal limit is 3

– 1 point for a shutout, unless it’s 0-0 (then no point is awarded)

*10 is the max points you can earn in a game
