PROGRAMS (2024)

We have a variety of programs that run all year round in order to ensure that our players have training opportunities and stay active. From premier teams to spring & summer camps, Sporting CT GVSA Summer Teams, High School pre-season camps, Spring & Summer Tournamnets and U-23 Men and U-23 Women's teams in the summer.

Spring Break Vacation Camp (April 8-12, 2024)

This Spring camp is designed for boys and girls with ages between 6 - 13 years old who are looking to improve their skills  The goal of this week's camp curriculum is to create confident, skillful players on the ball capable of making good decisions and recognizing 2v1 & 3v2 situations in all areas of the field.  Our staff will create a fun, challenging, competitive atmosphere that encourages players to take risks with the ball, expands their comfort zone and improves confidence in competitive situations.

Camp Times:

Half Day: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ CCR COMPLEX

Spring Shootout Tournament (April 19-21, 2024)

We’d like to invite you to play in the the 2024 Sporting CT Spring Shootout;
April 19-21, in Middletown, CT.
*(only local teams will play on the Friday)
The tournament is for U9 – U14/15 girls and boys teams. The tournament is very straightforward and simply geared towards providing additional mid-spring matches.
Information:
  • Each team plays 3 games
  • No Final – the team with the best record wins the tournament (scoring/point system/tiebreaker TBD)

Please join us for our Sporting CT Spring clinic starting Sunday, May 5th till June 9, 2024 at 395 Country Club Road (CCR Complex) in Middletown. This soccer clinic will be ran by our grassroots program coordinator Trystan Ayala and our Sporting CT coaching staff. This clinic is 6 weeks long and it will cost $175/player.

Our Fall & Spring program caters to young soccer players between the ages of 5 and 7.

  • U5
  • U6
  • U7
  • Also, we welcome kids from other towns.
  • Clinic is open to players from all towns boys and girls age 5, 6 and 7 year old.
  • Clinic will be 6 weeks long and will run each Sunday from 9-10am.
  • Clinic dates for the Spring are May 5 till June 9, 2024.
TRYOUTS 2024/25 SEASON
  • Premier Soccer Tryouts for (U8-U19 players).
  • Our Tryouts are held at CCR COMPLEX (395 Country Club Road, Middletown, CT) during our regular teams training.
  • May 6-10 and May 13-17, 2024 will be hosting tryouts.
  • The first 2 weeks in May, all registered players will be contacted to join us for our team training.
  • All our current Sporting members need to also register for the 2024/25 tryouts.
  • Coaches Assignments will be announced in late April or early May right before tryouts.

Each camp will run for one week from Monday - Friday and will be held at our CCR complex:

All camps will focus primarily on individual skill development with days being allocated a specific theme to allow for a more detailed focus to be prevalent.

Camps Length

Half Day - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Topics for each camp will also include:

  • Ball Mastery
  • Fakes & Turns
  • Dribbling to Penetrate
  • Escape Pressure & Possess the ball
  • Passing & Receiving both on the floor and in the air with a view to maintaining possession
  • Striking and Finishing
  • Individual Defending
  • Small-sided games

Our final day will see a variety of small-sided game tournaments played (2v2, 4v4, 6v6 & 8v8) allowing players to demonstrate their newly acquired skills and abilities in front of all family members and friends.

Sporting CT GVSA Summer Teams is an advanced soccer team training program designed to provide players of all levels with a game like training opportunities to help them reach their full potential in a fun, safe and challenging environment. All our trainings are at CCR COMPLEX.

TRAINING DATES BOYS (Monday & Wednesday):    

  • JUNE 24, 26
  • JULY 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31.                                                                                                                                                  

TRAINING DATES GIRLS (Tuesday & Thursday):

  • JUNE 25, 27
  • JULY 2, 3, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 (We will train on July 3rd instead of July 4th)

We’d like to invite you to play in the the 2024 GIA’s Memorial Classic Tournament;
Gia was a former Sporting CT 2007 player and part of our Sporting community. We want to always remember Gia’s smile and her legacy through our tournament.
August 3-4, in Middletown, CT.
*(only local teams will play on the Friday if needed)

This camp will truly help players develop their tactical understanding of the game so they can perform better for their teams during the season.

Registration will be open February 1st, 2024. Our Coaches hold significant experience within both, the soccer and Child Development domains. As a result, the guidance and support your athlete receives will be based upon a proactive and pragmatic philosophy which holds their best interests at heart.

ONLY FOR HIGH SCHOOL AGE GIRLS and BOYS (PLAYERS BORN 2010 - 2006)

Our final day will see a variety of small-sided game tournaments played (2v2, 4v4, 6v6 & 8v8) allowing players to demonstrate their newly acquired skills and abilities in front of all family members and friends.

As a club we are committed to ensuring the experiences afforded to our members are of only the highest standard and guarantee to try and provide our athletes with the best possible soccer education available.

All of our Program Directors and Staff Coaches hold significant education and experience within both the soccer and Child Development domains. As a result, the guidance and support your athlete receives will be based upon a proactive and pragmatic philosophy which holds their best interests at heart.

U23 Men

U-23 MEN

The Sporting CT U-23 MEN program is set up to provide our club alumni, current players as well as college age players from the area to train and compete at a high level in preparation for their fall collegiate seasons. Teams will train throughout the week with competitive league games throughout the summer months. The Sporting CT U-23 MEN team has had players from all NCAA divisions.

The Sporting CT UWS WOMEN program is set up to provide our club alumni, current players as well as college age players from the area to train and compete at a high level in preparation for their fall collegiate seasons. Teams will train throughout the week with competitive league games throughout the summer months. The Sporting CT UWS WOMEN team has had players internationally and from all NCAA divisions and will compete in UWS 1 (United Women's Soccer).
